Getting Started

What is TestBuggy?
TestBuggy is a Chrome extension paired with an AI-powered platform that records your browser interactions and automatically generates professional test cases and bug reports. It's built for QA engineers, developers, and product teams who want to save time on manual documentation.
How do I install TestBuggy?
Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for 'Test Buggy', or click the 'Add to Chrome' button on our homepage. Once installed, you'll see the TestBuggy icon in your browser toolbar. Sign in with your Google account and you're ready to start recording.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes, you need to sign in with your Google account to use TestBuggy. This allows us to manage your credits and provide a seamless experience across the extension and web dashboard. We only store your email and display name from Google.

Credits & Pricing

How does the credit system work?
Each AI generation (test case or bug report) costs 1 credit. You receive 10 free credits when you sign up. After that, you can purchase credit packages: 50 credits for $9.99, 200 credits for $29.99, or 1000 credits for $99.99. All purchases are one-time — no subscriptions.
Do credits expire?
No, your credits never expire. Once purchased, they remain in your account until you use them. There are no monthly limits or time-based restrictions.
Can I get a refund?
Credit purchases are generally non-refundable since they are digital goods consumed instantly. However, if you experience a service outage lasting more than 5 consecutive days, you may be eligible for a refund or credit compensation. Contact us at testbuggy.extension@gmail.com for support.

Features

What does the Selector Hunter do?
The Selector Hunter lets you right-click any element on a webpage and instantly get the most stable, unique CSS selector for it. It analyzes the DOM tree and finds reliable selectors even when elements lack IDs or data-testid attributes — perfect for writing automation scripts.
Can I export reports to Jira?
Direct Jira integration is currently in development and coming soon. In the meantime, you can export your reports in Jira-compatible Markdown format and paste them directly into Jira tickets. GIF recordings can be attached manually.
What is the 'Copy for AI' feature?
Copy for AI formats your recorded session data in a way that's optimized for AI coding assistants like Cursor, ChatGPT, or Claude. You can paste the output directly into these tools to get help with debugging, writing test automation, or understanding user flows.

Security & Privacy

Is my data stored on your servers?
No. TestBuggy processes your recorded session data transiently — it's sent to our AI processing pipeline, the result is generated, and the session data is immediately discarded. We never store your recorded browser interactions, screenshots, or session details on our servers.
What browser permissions does the extension need?
TestBuggy requires activeTab (to interact with the current page), tabs (to detect navigation), storage (to save your preferences locally), and webRequest (to capture failed network requests during recording). These permissions are only used during active recording sessions.
Is TestBuggy GDPR compliant?
Yes. TestBuggy is fully compliant with GDPR and KVKK (Turkish data protection law). We minimize data collection, process session data transiently, and give you full control over your account data including the right to access, correct, and delete your information.
